Erie Outing Club


Our club is devoted to the enjoyment of the outdoors together. We love non-motorized, non-competitive outdoor activities of all kinds. Come to our meetings and join the fun


The Outing Club is an outdoor activities club for all interests, all seasons, and all skill levels. Now, the Outing Club is one of four Outdoor recreational. clubs in Erie, and the most diverse. We have activity groups for backpacking, bicycling, canoeing, , cross-country skiing, , mountain biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, telemark skiing, and whitewater paddling, but we do much more


Upcoming Events




Fri- Sun, 5/2-4: Kayak Pine Creek our annual kayak outing. This is for experienced paddlers only. "O Wassee" rapid is fun and challenging. We always look the situation over before going through it. Two nights of camping in the gorge called the "Grand Canyon" of Pennsylvania. Event Coordinator Dave Croft


Sun 5/4 Bike From Scott Park around PI to Avonia, etc. Bike Around the Bay warmup. Meet at Scott Park at 9 a.m – Bring lunch, water & helmet. Pam F


Sat- Sun- 5/10-11: Kayaking Clarion River the annual float on the river from Ridgeway to Heath Pumping Station. There are some rapids known as the Trestle, X, Y, and Z on the Clarion. We'll leave early Saturday morning for Ridgeway, camp along the river and should be off the water around noon on Sunday. Event Coordinator Robert and Doris Allen

Sat 5/17 Allegheny Gorge Clear Creek State Forest, Pearl, PA 7 miles – 10 a.m. Harry B


Sun 5/18 – McConnell's Mill hike – 8.5 miles – Meet at Starbucks Millcreek Mall -(across Red Lobster) 8:00 a.m. Lunch, water and walking sticks – Jackie H.


Sat 05/24 Western Reserve Greenway Trail in Trumbull County,Oh This is the Southern Part of the Ashtabula trail. Meet at Route 832 and I-90 at the Presque Isle Inn (Best Western) at 8:30am The trail is flat, paved. The trail is 17 mile to the end, or 34 miles both ways. Direction to trail head in Orwell Parking is located on Mayfield Road in Orwell. From the intersection of RT 45 and RT 322 (Mayfield Road), head east on RT 322 approximately 1 mile. Located just past Penniman Road on south side of street, directly across from Reels Auto Sales (547 Mayfield Road).
