We do day hikes and overnight Backpacking...

Day hike are a great way to get to know other members...


Bicycle Riding

We do everything from flat bike paths to rolling hills out in the country...

The ride are always social, amd most of the time includes eating somewhere on the ride...



We kayak the local streams and rivers in the area...

We also have a group that meets weekly to kayak...



We meet every monday at the Pennsula for a nice easy bike ride...

After the ride we have lunch together to talk about the ride...

You can try out an event once before joining the club, but you need to sign a release before doing the event. You can get a release by clicking on join now, then "Click here for membership application". Then download and print out the second page. Sign it and bring it to the event and give it to the event coordinator.
Click on Join, then click on "Click here for membership application" on the main web page. You need to download both the membership application and the release form and send them to the P.O Box which is on the application. You will also need the Acrobat Reader program on your computer which is probably already installed.
The Erie Outing Club is a dues-paying group and the majority of our membership fees are donated to groups and organizations that work to create, maintain or improve local trails and wilderness areas.
We are a volunteer club, and have a small group of people doing the work. Please remind us by sending an email by going to the contact link on the main web page. From there you can send us a email.You will be then sent an ivitation to join the email list, and if you haven't received a membership card, please inform us that you are still waiting for a membership card.

You will need a bicycle helmet, a proper maintained bicycle, and a tube in case you get a flat, and also a full water bottle. Optional equipment is a tool kit, tire irons for fixing flat, and a first aid kit. You also might need to bring a lunch, depending on where the bike ride is located at. Also check with the event coordinator on the degree of difficulty of the ride. The ride might be hilly or a lot of miles. Or the ride could be easy, and flat and low mileage. Also think about your abilty to do the ride.
A sea kayak with a Park Permit or Fish and Game Commission Permit, personal floatation device, whistle and a paddle. You will need a sun hat and lots of sun screen. If you are going on a River Camping Trip you will need an in-close kayak. Some rivers require paddling experience, check with the event coodinator to be sure. Optional equipment is an extra paddle, kayak skirt, paddle float etc.
